Representatives of NIS visited a partner university in St. Petersburg

Representatives of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology in Aktau visited the Molecular Pharmacology Laboratory at the St. Petersburg State Technological Institute (Technical University), which is an international partner of the school.

The Molecular Pharmacology Laboratory is equipped with the latest modern laboratory equipment. The students were informed about the current research being conducted in the laboratory. In particular, it was mentioned that cells and drugs aimed at combating oncological diseases are being tested in this laboratory.

After visiting the laboratory, the school representatives were introduced to the museum dedicated to the history of the institute. The museum showcases the work of renowned scientists and inventors who contributed to the institute over different periods.

Additionally, the Deputy Director of the school for educational work, Aybar Murzabekov, and the school’s ecological coordinator, Bakytgul Zhaksilykova, met with the Vice-Rector for International Affairs of the institute, Valentin Vasilyevich Sobolev.

During the meeting, future joint projects between the two organizations were discussed, and specific proposals were made.

Collaboration with the institute, which has a 195-year rich history and where prominent chemists such as D.I. Mendeleev, N.N. Zinin, D.K. Chernov, I.P. Chaikovsky, and others worked, will continue.
