The head of UNICEF Kazakhstan under the UN, Rashed Mustafa Sarwar, paid a visit to the Назарбаев Интеллектуальная школа in Aktau. He familiarized himself with the life of the intellectual school and held a dialogue with the students.

The meeting was attended by members of the school organizations “Ecoleader,” MUNNISA, the volunteer group “Meiirim Oskini,” as well as representatives of “Zhasyl Zhebe” and “Gibrat PRO” from the city of Жанаозен. During the meeting, the school principal, Rinat Zhumabayev, expressed his gratitude to the guest and spoke about the school’s mission, its values, and the activities carried out during the Year of Volunteers.

Rashed Sarwar, Head of UNICEF Kazakhstan, particularly emphasized the alignment of the intellectual school’s mission and the importance of its values. He introduced the participants to the organization’s areas of work in protecting children’s rights and spoke about the initiatives implemented so far. In addition, he shared important advice with the students, highlighting the significance of environmental protection and increasing green spaces.

“It is important to speak about global warming and climate change and to communicate this information to the public. Last year, UNICEF planted 25,000 trees and collected more than 500 tons of waste. It is very important to convey to society our aspiration to build a green country,” said Rashed Sarwar.

At the end of the meeting, the school principal presented the guest with handmade crafts created by students and teachers, after which the participants took a commemorative photo.
