Graduate from Aktau Accepted into Oxford University PhD Program

Meruert Bizhanova, a 2019 graduate of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Aktau, has reached another major milestone in her academic journey — she has been officially accepted into the PhD program at one of the world’s most prestigious universities, the University of Oxford!
Previously, Meruert studied at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States, where she was elected President of the Student Assembly.
“I got into Oxford for my PhD!” — Meruert shared the exciting news on her personal page. She spoke about the university with special excitement:

“It’s the place where Stephen Hawking studied, where Harry Potter was filmed, and where ideas that changed human civilization were born,” she wrote.

Oxford is a university that has nurtured global thinkers and Nobel Prize winners, trained prime ministers and scientists — a hub of great minds.
