Participation in the international MIT Model United Nations Conference in Boston, the student capital of the USA, was a significant achievement for NIS students.

Pupil of 11 ‘H’ class of the Intellectual School Nazym Kairat became the winner of one of the main nominations MUN Honorable Mention, which is given for significant achievements in the field of diplomacy, active participation in discussions and as a recognition of her ability to analytical thinking and the ability to effectively interact with colleagues in international debates.

The MUN conference at MIT is known for its high level of competition, as it attracts world-class students, experienced debaters, and future leaders from high schools and universities in the United States, as well as from Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, Latin America, and Canada. This creates a unique atmosphere and gives participants a rare opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of international relations and diplomacy.

NIS students in more than a dozen committees discussed global issues ranging from climate change and sustainable development to international security and human rights. Each committee modelled the work of real UN bodies such as the General Assembly, Security Council and Human Rights Committee. Our delegates showed their ability to work in teams, express their ideas persuasively and practise diplomatic techniques, including business English.
