English League Debate Tournament of NIS "Environmental Issues"

Students from the branches of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools gathered at the Chemistry-Biology Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Almaty to participate in the English League debate. A total of 110 students from various regions of the country participated in the network tournament. It is important to note that this is the first time the English League debate has been organized.

During the two-day event, NIS students showcased their high-level debating skills. Additionally, the participants demonstrated their analytical thinking, knowledge and expertise, as well as their eloquence and courage. Most importantly, they understood that debates are not a battleground, but a platform for exchanging ideas within a specific topic under special rules.

"Debates open new opportunities, change your surroundings, and increase your circle of friends," said the participants, all of whom came well-prepared for the event. The participants' performance was evaluated by judges from reputable debate clubs in the country.

The debate topic focused on environmental issues. Following the intense competition, the debaters from the Physics-Mathematics Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Aktobe secured third place. Students from the International Baccalaureate School in Astana won second place. First place was awarded to the students from the Physics-Mathematics Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Almaty. The first English-language debate will continue in the future.
