Tenth Grand Prix: a new achievement for Nur-Sazy

Ethnic folk orchestra of national instruments "The Nur-Sazy"at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Almaty-Nauryzbay has achieved another resounding success. Last weekend, the young musicians won the Grand Prix at the Ushqyn International Competition for Children and Teenagers, which was held on the stage of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Folk Instrument Orchestra.

Among nearly 100 talented participants from all over the country, the Nur-Sazy orchestra stood out for its high level of performance, winning over the authoritative jury. The young musicians brilliantly performed the kuy “Alkissa” by the outstanding Kazakh composer Nurgisa Tlendiev, eliciting sincere enthusiasm from the audience. The students demonstrated their teamwork, stage presence, and heartfelt deep respect for national art.

This is the sixth victory for the Nur-Sazy orchestra at international competitions, where the ensemble has won the Grand Prix. The young ensemble is rightly considered one of the best teenage orchestras in Kazakhstan.

For the ninth year, the orchestra has been led by the renowned kuyashi, experienced teacher, and recipient of the Kurmangazy badge, Ertai Barlykov, who guides the creative pursuits of his students and makes a significant contribution to the development of national musical art.
