NIS Almaty Students Win Awards at the Chess Online Spartakiad

The online Chess Spartakiad was held on the lichess.org platform among the students of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools. 21 schools participated, including the International School of Astana.

This year, over 180 students from three age categories competed for the title of best chess player. The tournament brought together both experienced players and beginners.

Students of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Almaty showed excellent results and earned the following awards:

• Boys’ Individual Competition (Grades 7-9):

  • 2nd place – Aldiyar Zharas

  • 3rd place – Bekarys Sailau

• Girls’ Individual Competition (Grades 10-12):

  • 2nd place – Eldana Kaliakhamet

• Boys’ Individual Competition (Grades 10-12):

  • 3rd place – Tolegen Bolys

The competition was held online, allowing participants to demonstrate their strategic thinking and chess skills on a virtual chessboard.
