NIS student received an invitation to the best university in the world

The NIS of the Physics and Mathematics Department of Almaty once again confirms its status as a conductor of outstanding talents. Akerke Nurakhmetova, a student of the Intellectual School, received an invitation to the best university in the world – the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The winner of the republican and international Olympiads such as Silk Road, Asia-Pacific, Tuimaada, and Zhautykovskaya, notes that a pleasant feeling of joy does not leave her for a minute: Receiving a grant from MIT is an incredible event for me. The university admission procedure was quite stressful but interesting. MIT provides its own application portal, and I started the process as soon as it opened. I finished it after the New Year. It was difficult to answer some questions, but I tried to be as honest and accurate as possible. In the future, Akerke plans to become not only a mechanical engineer but also to study biomedical engineering and teach. At the moment, my time is mainly occupied by teaching Olympiad mathematics. This activity gives me great pleasure. In addition, I try to help the girls from our school in their participation in the Technovation-Girls project. I am grateful to everyone who has supported and helped me along this path – my parents, teachers, and friends.
