X international scientific and practical conference “Next Generation Schools” dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Autonomous organization of education “Nazarbayev Intellectual schools” was held in the capital.

A record number of delegates took part in one of the main educational forums of the country – about 2,000 participants from more than 20 countries. Kazakhstan was represented by the best speakers from all regions – 700 teachers took part in the conference within the framework of memoranda concluded between Intellectual schools and regional akimats. The largest delegations represented Karaganda region and Astana city.

The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Sagadiyev, President of Nazarbayev University Shigeo Katsu and Chairman of the Board of “Nazarbayev Intellectual schools” Kulyash Shamshidinova.

– From year to year, our conference serves as a unique platform for the exchange of experience for scientists and teachers all over the country, near and far abroad. The current conference is an anniversary and takes place in the year of the decade of Intellectual schools, – said Kulyash Shamshidinova.

Traditionally, the conference was attended by internationally recognized scientists, experts and teachers. Among the main speakers – Dean of the faculty of education at Cambridge University Susan Robertson, Honorary Professor of the Institute of education at University College London, author of the theory of “strong knowledge” Michael Young, Director of the Department of educational policy at Hong Kong University Kai-Ming Cheng, Director of innovation and external relations EduCluster Finland David Marsh, Professor of the Massachusetts Institute of technology Thomas Hsu, as well as other scientists and top managers in the field of education. Kazakhstan reports prepared by teachers of secondary schools of the capital, Kokshetau, Semey, Karaganda, Taraz, West Kazakhstan regions aroused great interest. The demand for research in secondary education is confirmed by the titles of the reports: “Leadership in education management” Gulzhanat Abdramanova from Astana, “Transformation of a teacher into a teacher-leader in terms of the updated content of education” Gulnara Esmagulova and Irina Olkhovik from Aksai.

One of the most anticipated events was an autograph session of the President of the international center for humane pedagogy, writer Paata Amonashvili, Kazakh journalist Gulnara Bazhkenova, international scientific consultant in the field of multilingual programs Peter Mehisto, the specialist in the field of education transformation and teaching methodology David Marsh.

The conference covered 12 areas, in which more than 50 events were held. One of the features of this year is the project “student Voice” with the participation of students, they presented the work of the international baccalaureate in Kazakhstan. A special section on inclusive education was also held for the first time. Among the main topics of the year – the challenges of the new time and sustainable changes in the educational system, the creation of a prosperous environment for teachers and students, as well as digital technologies in education.

During the conference, memorandums of cooperation between the Autonomous educational organization “Nazarbayev Intellectual schools” and the Embassy of France in Kazakhstan, private schools Bilimkana (Kyrgyzstan) and the Eurasian national University named after L. Gumilev were signed.

Today Astana conference is recognized as one of the most authoritative discussion platforms in the scientific world devoted to topical issues of world and domestic education.
