Eight teachers of Nazarbayev Intellectual school of Taraz became certified experts and trainers of CLIL. Now they have the full right to teach their colleagues the use of the CLIL technique in chemistry, biology, physics and computer science classes.
Biology teachers Kamila Lishanlaeva and Didar Myrzaev, chemistry teacher Stanislav Kotov, physics teacher Mirlan Jusambaev, informatics teachers Balzhan Duisekeeva and Nuriya Panshaeva received certificates of CLIL expert. As a CLIL trainer became chemistry teacher Sergey Zhevnitskiy and physics teacher Elmira Kusbekova.
Teachers with IELTS certificates and who taught specialized subjects were selected to participate in the courses. The course consisted of a four-month programme comprising three modules: language understanding, skills development and training the trainers.
Recall that according to the NIS program profile subjects in high school of the Intellectual schools are taught in English, using the technology CLIL. CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) is a method of integrated subject and language learning. That is, teaching subjects in the second or third (Kazakh, Russian or English) language.
NIS students in Taraz won prizes at the XIX Republican competition of research projects and creative works “Zerde”.
