Twelfth grade student of the Taraz Intellectual school Dana Kurmanbek won two million tenge for the implementation of her business project for the production of whey powder. Her business initiative was supported by the national chamber of entrepreneurs “Atameken” within the framework of the program “Business road map 2020″.

– In our country, whey powder is imported from Russia and Belarus. And starting to produce it at home, we would get rid of additional costs. Whey powder is used in the production of more than 150 types of products. These are cosmetic and pharmaceutical products, sausage and confectionery products, different types of ice cream, – Dana shared.

In the long-term plans of the young businesswoman to begin realizing the idea. After all, it has a business plan and investment.

The head of the students is the economy teacher-moderator Aliya Zhusanbaeva.  Under her mentorship Dana carefully drew up and calculated her business plan.

– Implementation of the project on production of dry whey through processing of waste of dairy products will be carried out on the basis of Nazarbayev Intellectual school of Taraz. I hope that the project will work on the economy of the region and even the country,” – said Aliya Makhtabekovna.

It is worth noting that Dana Kurmanbek was the only contestant who was only 18 years old. After all, along with it, experienced entrepreneurs took part in the competition. Each participant had three minutes to present their business project and two minutes to answer questions from the members of the competition committee.

According to the organizers, a total of 250 applications were received. Projects were evaluated according to the criteria of novelty of business ideas, competitiveness and readiness of business. The competition commission included representatives of Nazarbayev University, the employment center of the city, public organizations, the chamber of entrepreneurs, heads of various enterprises and businessmen.
