Dilnaz Tursynbekova, a student of the 11th grade of Nazarbayev Intellectual school in Taraz will go to USA. She participated in the TechGirls 2019 program organized by the US State Department and is one of six winners from Kazakhstan.
Dilnaz emerged victorious after successfully completing the tasks of the previous stages. The challenges included writing several essays on the development of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and taking an online interview with representatives of the US State Department.
Over a month, the winners of the program will study the Python programming language and take a course on cybersecurity at the University of Trinity Washington, and Virginia Polytechnic University – leading educational institutions in the United States.
Together with her peers, Dilnaz will take part in seminars on planning, intercultural cooperation and serving the community tenable at large technology companies and leading health clinics of the District of Columbia.
It is noteworthy that the project participants need to create an action plan to solve selected public challenges collaboratively. After returning to Kazakhstan, Dilnaz plans to implement this project together with her supervisor Nagima Sarsenbayeva.
– “I dream to learn a programming language and in the future to become a highly acclaimed specialist. I want to create robots that can facilitate human life, as well as make technological discoveries. Participation in the TechGirls 2019 program is a good chance for me”, – shared Dilnaz Tursynbekova.
The TechGirls 2019 program is an intensive four-week program that supports the girls from 15 to 17 years in their quest in science and technology through the development of practical skills. It is held annually by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Programs of the US State Department.
