“Is fast food popular in Taraz?”, “What are your prejudices about the US?”, “Why are only girls in your school?”, “How is Nauryz kozhe prepared? “, “Is the sushi “Philadelphia” popular in Philadelphia?” and other questions were asked each other during the online meeting by students from Kazakhstan and the United States.
In order to develop students ‘ sense of global citizenship, communication skills, as well as intercultural communication, were organized a series of meetings in real-time of students of Taraz Intellectual school with students of Columbus School for Girls, Ohio, USA.
Students of two schools talked on a variety of topics – the education system of the two countries, traditions, holidays, culture, seasons, pets, etc.
Students of Columbus School for Girls told their peers about their project May Program, where the theme of this year was chosen Kazakhstan. They admitted that the conversation helped them to significantly replenish their knowledge about our country. In turn, students of the Intellectual school were very surprised by the fact that their foreign friends know a lot about their homeland.
In the next academic year, representatives of the two schools plan to carry out joint activities on a systematic basis.
