UNESCO cluster Office in Almaty in cooperation with Akimat of Almaty held a competition “Music for peace and development”. The competition was organized in the framework of the youth creative festival “ALMATY – YOUTH SPACE”.
Since Almaty is the musical city of the UNESCO creative cities network, the main objective of this project was to promote the musical culture of the city and encourage young people to develop and create new projects that will unlock the potential of music and creativity as a tool for sustainable development.
All young people between the ages of 16 and 35 who are interested in musical creativity and know how to transform it into an instrument for achieving intercultural dialogue, gender equality, peaceful and inclusive society, as well as for reducing the intergenerational gap were invited to participate.
The students of Nazarbayev Intellectual school of Taraz Keneshbekova Aruzhan, Kusanbay Nurdana, Mynzhasar Zina, Serikova Akerke, Shadiyar Aikumis presented their projects in the nominations “Music for peace”, “Music generations”, “Music is our legacy” and received the gratitude diplomas from the Director of UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty Krista Pikkat.
The jury of the competition included well-known artists and music experts of the UNESCO Cluster Bureau in Almaty.
