Ivan Krepak, 12th grade student from Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Almaty, was among the winners of the project “100 New Faces of Kazakhstan”.
Initially there were 2000 participants, but only 29 best participants were selected to meet with the President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Kazmedia center, Astana. Among them was robotics technician and mobile application developer and an information security specialist, the winner of numerous Olympiads in robotics and computer technologies – a student of NIS Ivan Krepak.
After the official part of the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev talked to the finalists of the project and took pictures with them. Ivan also had an interesting conversation with president.
– I met with the President and told him: “I study in a wonderful school – Almaty NIS of Physics and Mathematics. In 2014, I owned a scholarship to study in this school, from that day I realized that I must meet the expectations placed by you and the whole country. We have a class of robotics in this school, we are taught to create our own projects, besides this we are studying the creation of mobile applications; this all could not be without your trust in schoolchildren. I have a talisman that I take with me to all competitions, conferences and forums – it is your photo.” After these words, Nursultan Nazarbayev put his hand on my back and said: “Vanya, now you will have a new talisman”. And we took a picture, – Ivan Krepak shared his impressions.
