The theme of the seminar, held on March 12, 2019 by the associate Professor of the Higher school of education of Nazarbayev University, Sulushash Kerimkulova was “Interactive teaching methods”.
Sulushash Ihsanovna spoke about the importance of the transition from traditional teacher-centered learning to student-centered learning. She also shared such teaching methods as: interactive lecture, interactive seminar, reflection, discussion, game, case study, cooperative learning, project activities and IT-method.
According to the Professor, it is time for schools to move from reproductive education to constructive. It is important to involve students in research work, laying the foundation for lifelong learning for each student. She also stressed that the economy of Kazakhstan is increasingly in need of specialists who are able to work with knowledge, who are able to turn knowledge into the subject of purposeful work.
Also senior manager of NU Graduate school of education Nursultan Salgarayev presented Graduate and Doctoral programs of the Nazarbayev University to interested teachers of the Intellectual school.
