The Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Taraz, together with the regional educational and methodological office, held a planned workshop on the dissemination of best practices. The event was attended by teachers of schools in the city and all districts of the region. The total number was about 700 teachers.

At the seminar, not only teachers of Intellectual Schools, but also teachers of rural and district schools shared their experience.  Together, they discussed leadership in building a successful school system, the development of summative assessment tasks for the section and for the quarter, as well as assessment tools, the main tasks of formative assessment.

The director of the school-gymnasium No.5 of the Merke district, Nurilya Koishymanova, spoke on the topic “The role of a leader in building a successful school system”. The head of the educational institution spoke about several effective methods that were used in raising an ordinary secondary school to the status of a gymnasium. One of them was a 45-step author’s project aimed at the development of the school Model “Akaral Progress”.

Teachers of the B.Besbayev gymnasium school of Zhambyl district Aigul Kalmakhanova and Nurzhan Dubanov shared their valuable experience at the seminar. The participants were particularly interested in the report of the Honored Teacher of Kazakhstan Kalmakhanova Aigul Bazarbaevna “Assessment tools: learning goals, assessment criteria, levels of thinking skills, tasks, descriptors”, who actively interacted with the audience by asking subtext questions.

 

Principal of the Intellectual School Timur Nurkeshov and Deputy principal Zhanat Altayev spoke about the importance of leadership in resolving differences between participants in the educational process. In this regard, the teacher of the city school No.38 Gaukhar Tazhibayeva invited the speakers at the next meeting to share their experience on the development of leadership in the classroom.

Also, teachers of Intellectual schools: Zhusipnazarova G., Darmenbayeva A., Tortaev K., Klyuchantseva O. held workshops in chemistry and physics on the development of summative assessment tasks for the quarter and for the section. The teachers were able to reveal the given topic by offering the audience various tasks.

– With the help of our colleagues from the Intellectual School, we have gained the necessary knowledge on our subject in the updated content of education. Our questions on criteria-based assessment were answered in particular detail. We believe that the seminar was effective, – say secondary school teachers who took part in the seminar.
