From 4 to 8 April, on the eve of the Cosmonautics Day, the XIV International Scientific Space Exploration Competition “Discovering the World of Science” was held in Baikonur, in which took part 3 students of the Nazarbayev Intellectual school in Taraz. Students of the 9th grade Basybek Meirzhan and Kosherbay Dias at the competitions presented the project “Improved construction of the first stage of the Angar-7 launch vehicle” in the Space Technology and Infrastructure section.
– The guys had the goal to develop and collect models of the advanced design of the first stage of the Angar-7 booster rocket, which allows to solve the problem of uncontrolled falling of the blocks and related environmental and economic problems. Work on this project lasted two years, – says project manager Korchagin V.V.
The work of Meirzhan and Dias was highly appreciated by the jury members, they were awarded by diplomas of I degree.
Student of 12 grade Mukhamedali Bekzat made a project in which he presented a program for calculating the deposition of titanium on a ceramic computer chip to control a space rocket.
– A special chip made of ceramics is needed to control the rocket. Such chips are disposable, or quickly come to malfunction. When studying this topic, I studied the process of sputtering titanium on a ceramic substrate, since this factor affects the long-term use of spacecraft. To perform appropriate calculations for the deposition of titanium, a program was created and tested in the C ++ programming language, – Mukhamedali shares with us. The work of young scientist was appreciated, and he got the 1st degree diploma.
The competition “Discovering the World of Science”, organized by the Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Daryn”, is aimed at stimulating the research abilities of schoolchildren to applied research in the field of Earth and Space science, space technologies, modeling and astrophysics.
